CUCRA / CUCEA
The Council of University of California Retirees Association (CUCRA) conducted a survey to quantify the post-retirement engagement of retirees throughout the UC system. The survey highlights the sheer breadth of accomplishments of UC employees and staff. The survey notes that UC Retirees lead engaged lifestyles by participating in volunteer work, providing professional services, and even publishing new works of their own. Additionally, The Council of University of California Emeriti Associations (CUCEA) produced a survey summarizing the achievements of all UC emeriti between the years of 2018-2021. The survey seeks to highlight the scope of emeriti engagement, and ultimately notes that the collective accomplishments of the emeriti equate to a "Virtual Eleventh Campus". The Council of University of California Retiree Associations (CUCRA) is a consortium of the Retiree Associations of nine University of California campuses CUCRA's goal is to provide a single organization that could speak for the many University and laboratory retirees on issues that could affect retiree benefits and privileges.
